Key Takeaways
When I look behind it seems that a lot has passed since I was an intern here at Linnify and it was quite a journey.
I didn’t set any expectations at the beginning, I just wanted to take things as they are and see what’s next.
Let's go back on the circuits of this journey
Being familiar with Angular from a previous internship, I opted for Angular. Therefore, I was part of the web team. We started with two weeks of intensive learning where I learned a lot of new things and I had the opportunity to improve my skills then we put into practice everything we’ve learned by creating an app from scratch that we are still using today.
I was amazed by the professionalism I’ve found here and how everything went.
What are the bits that make the whole deploy
The mentors managed to make us curious and eager to learn and they were always there to guide us. Also, we had a lot of extra activities including one awesome teambuilding or a “treasure hunt” where we had to find the new location of our office.
Have you seen our office? I think you should.
Just after that, my mentors became my colleagues as I entered on a quite big project which I am still working on today, a platform responsible for managing processes inside a foundry.
I was the newest member of the team but I felt integrated and they trusted me and I did my best to not disappoint them. I was so excited because I liked the team and the project’s purpose. I worked on multiple parts of the application and I saw that my work brings value.
It is satisfying to see videos from foundries with this software and know that you’ve done this.
There's no mastery without exploring the branches
I started as a web developer but slowly I switched my focus on the backend part as well and in a relatively short time I was able to maintain the entire application.
In these years I have grown significantly in all aspects, adding to my stack new technologies like React, Django and improving my soft skills as much as I could.
I consider that here we have a healthy environment where you can grow, you can be yourself, you are constantly supported and you can use your strengths to bring value to the world we live in. Personally, I can say that I’ve learned something from every Linnifian and I could not be more grateful than that. So be fearless, overcome the challenges and live your dream.
Any advice for future generations?
Don't be afraid to explore or to fail, you have only things to learn from so take everything as a lesson and in the end, you'll succeed.
